“Shenzhen” from Guy Delisle

In my comic bookshelves, Guy Delisle has his own section of work. His travelogues from places like Burma and Pyongyang provide a view of the world I wouldn't get otherwise. Delisle exists in a small world of comic artists that do this well, a club that includes Joe Sacco, another favorite of mine. Shenzhen gives you a look at one of China's most crowded and prosperous cities in 2006. When I travel I am most excited about the question, "How do people live here? How would I enjoy life here?"
